Morgan’s Personal Journey to Joining Commission 127

When Morgan was just 15, her family adopted her youngest brother. That decision would forever shape the lens through which she saw the world.

As November kicks off National Adoption Month, we take this moment to hear the personal story of C127’s newest team member, Morgan Angel.

“Adoption of my brother changed everything,” she reflects.

“Watching him face challenges that were rooted in his earliest years, and learning the layers of his story before he was part of our family, opened my eyes to the weight families carry when they say yes to loving kids from hard places. Through my brother’s adoption and the challenges that came with it, God used my defensive reactions to show me more of His patient love and how He meets us in our brokenness.”

That experience opened up a world that was often isolating and misunderstood. “Even though we loved him deeply, it felt like no one really understood what we were walking through,” she says.

If C127 and their network of church support had existed back then, it could have made a real difference in our lives. Now, to be part of it feels like a full-circle moment.”

With a background in communications and a heart rooted in hospitality, Morgan brings  a unique blend of creativity and compassion to the Commission 127 team. She officially joined us in August as our new Events Coordinator and has already hit the ground running, using her gifts to plan spaces where families & volunteers can rest, connect, and celebrate together. What makes her a particularly meaningful addition to the C127 family is her deeply personal connection to the foster and adoptive community.

As someone who has spent her adult life either working or volunteering in event planning, stepping into this role is more than a job. It is a calling. Whether hosting events with her husband in their home or planning something larger for dozens of families, creating warm, welcoming spaces is second nature to her.

“I hope to bring a sense of belonging,” she shares. “I want those we serve to walk into a C127 event and immediately feel like they can breathe, like they’re seen, served, cared for, and celebrated.”

When she’s not planning events or working with volunteers, you’ll likely find her enjoying time with her husband of five years and their two energetic young boys. The four of them love exploring the outdoors, grabbing coffee at local cafés, and traveling whenever they get the chance.

While Morgan may be new to the C127 team, her heart is right at home here. She brings passion, purpose, and a clear sense of vision for how hospitality can help heal, even through events of belonging.

“This doesn’t feel like just another event I’m planning,” she says. “It feels like I’m helping create spaces where those served by Commission 127 can JUST BE. Where they can make memories and feel the kind of support we all need sometimes. I’m honored to be part of something that’s making such a real difference.”

In a ministry that exists to serve vulnerable children and the families who fight to love them well, Morgan fits right in. We are so excited to welcome her to the C127 Family.
