Deana Scott

Family Support Specialist

A Florida native, Deana has always had a passion to work with and encourage children and their parents, and her professional experience reflects that, from nannying, to working for the Juvenile Justice System, to teaching preschool at Northland Church for 15 years and working within their Early Childhood Ministry.

Deana felt the stir in her heart for a few years that God was calling her family to something more. The foster care system was foreign to her family, but as she and her husband, Terry, continued to pray, they learned about the great local need for foster parents. They made the decision that Deana would retire early and become a stay-at-home foster mama.

However, the beginning of their foster journey was extremely difficult and Deana found herself feeling isolated. After being introduced to Commission 127, Deana was able to get connected with other families who loved caring for vulnerable children. As the Family Support Specialist for C127, she is passionate about connecting, supporting and encouraging foster and adoptive families, so they will never feel alone.

The Scotts have been married for over 30 years. They have two children, ages 19 and 25. Together, they have cared for five children over their past 3 years as a foster family and are currently loving on an almost two-year old foster son.
